THE VIRTUAL OWL
Welcome to the student mail portal called “The Virtual Owl.” Please read and follow the guidelines below to help you get the most from your experience.
We hope you enjoy using this magical mail portal to send letters, ask questions, or share ideas with any of the school’s teachers or students listed on your Contact List. You can view your Contact List at the end of this page.
There is a box below called “COMMENTS.” You will write your letter in this box. It is fun and easy once you get the knack.
To send a letter, you need to assure it gets to the correct recipient. This is why you must always start your letter like this. First, type TO: Then enter the person’s name. For example, TO: Harry. (If you have more than one Harry in your contact list, you also will need to include their last name so your owl knows which Harry should get the letter).
Next, write the rest of your letter.
When you are done, click the button that says POST COMMENT. This screen will appear.
6. In the space that says Name, enter yours.
7. You can ignore the spaces for Email Address and Website URL. These are for teachers only.
8. Click on the words that say “Comment as Guest.” Now your letter will be picked up by your virtual owl and delivered to the portal nearest your recipient.
9. Check back with “The Virtual Owl” as often as you like to see if your letter has been answered.
