GRINCH
I am so thrilled Keith finally drew a card that celebrates one of my very favorite Christmas characters — The Grinch! Until recently, I used to host a Grinch party for my younger grandchildren each year as part of our Christmas celebration. I donned my Grinch costume (yes, I wear it proudly), and planned activities, crafts, prizes, games, and treats featuring this delightful green villain.
I can’t tell you how attractive I find Keith in green! He still has his beard, also featured on the 2021 Hippie Christmas card, so we were thinking a Santa card was inevitable. I am surprised he was able to make “Grinch with a Beard” work. I love the drippy grey ball at the end of his Santa hat, the scruffy green fur, and, best of all, his 3x red heart.
The Rat managed to slither his way on to the card again. A rat pretending to be a dog pretending to be a reindeer - but not just any dog. He is pretending to be my daughter Maggie’s dog Pugsley. He will pose in this incredibly trusting man-spread pose. Ya gotta see it!
I suspect like many families, some years back, daughter Mollie suggested the theme of Whoville for our family Christmas party. The best was the Who Hair contest! Thanks to loads of hairspray and dozens of pipe cleaners, all of us girls were able to make elaborate coiffures with our flowing locks. I love the way Keith captured the spirit of that day with my Who Hair.
I am over the moon to finally have my inner Who self portrayed for the world to see: Mary Pat Who! That little girl is exactly how I feel every Christmas no matter how old I get. And I adore my big green Grinch more and more with each passing year.
