Art Contest | Touques
DON’T JOKE ‘BOUT THE TOUQUE!
We are starting the new year with a cozy little Art Contest that celebrates touques! The word “touque” is pronounced like “toe” with a “k” at the end! Although it is essential a knit beanie, they are the iconic headwear of Canada and all its most sincere hockey players. You may be wondering why they have the pompom on top. It is designed to soften any bumping of one’s head when drunk and getting into fight (maybe I made up that part).
This month’s challenge is to design the fabulous touque of your dreams. The only limit is your imagination.
Send Granny a photo of your finished touque art entry. Tell her the name of the drawing and any special historical achievements, psychic powers, or handy accessories associated with your touque. If you are concerned about starting from scratch, I am sending along an outline to get you started. CLICK HERE
