Snowflake Day
At least once every winter, we like to celebrate snow. We try to change up the activities so it stays interesting. This year, as you can see from the header above, the kids made some extraordinary snowflake cookies - but there was more fun as well. Here’s what Snow Day looked like at 240 this year.
Granny pre-baked the sugar cookies and organized some cookie decorating supplies. It was our first time trying the little sugar pearls. They are so fancy. We all loved them.
It’s always nice to have a treat and a prize. This year, the treat was 12 fun-size white chocolate Twix bars - a family favorite. The prize is a secret. You’ll have to wait until it’s unwrapped to see.
White pipe cleaners for making snowflakes. And there’s always something wonderful to be made by using your imagination, like the letters in the cookie banner at the top made by Presley.
And, of course, we need some kind of snowy place setting. This is the third year for the snowflake headbands. Granny thinks she can squeeze out a few more years until little heads are too big.

SCENES FROM MAKING A SNOWMAN
It was too cold outside for Granny to be enthusiastic about building a snowman, so she came up with this idea. We filled pie plates with snow and then made snowman faces with her sewing button collection. They were the fanciest snowmen ever!
TIME FOR THE SNOW DAY PRIZE
For their ardent and diligent participation in today’s activities, for sharing their yummy and beautiful snowflake cookies, and for their stylish snowman faces, the girls received a Snow Slime Kit (messy fun for another day)!
P.S. Lilly made a cookie with her name spelled out in pearls.
