lost & found

Keith and I eat the same food, breathe the same air, experience so much of the same life experiences. And, we’ve been doing this for decades and decades. On our anniversary, it struck me how many different ways our lives have been intertwined - mixed and stirred in some sort of mutual digestion. I can’t say it feels like we are a single entity rather than two individuals. It’s more like we have this perfect treaty that assures mutual benefits and protection. It’s more like we have this perfect friend who will hang in there when no one else could. It’s more like we have this perfect life, that crests and crashes like everyone’s, but is modulated by enduring love. It’s hard to put that in a poem.
