001 - Da Vinci's Curiosity & The Power of Notebooks

We are each on our own lifelong journey of learning and discovery. We’ve found one of the best places to draw inspiration is from Leonardo da Vinci. He traveled hhis journey withh an insatiable curiosity that drove him to explore, experiment, and document the world around him.

Da Vinci's notebooks, of which he produced 13,000 pages, serve as a testament to his relentless curiosity and pursuit of knowledge. His pages are filled with sketches, diagrams, and meticulous observations on an astounding array of subjects - from human anatomy and the flight of birds to the mechanics of water and the nature of light.

What made Da Vinci's notebooks so remarkable was his ability to blend art and science, constantly seeking to understand the underlying principles that governed the natural world. He allowed his curiosity to flow freely between disciplines, making original and insightful discoveries.

For Da Vinci, the act of writing and drawing in his notebooks was more than just a way to record information; it was a fundamental part of his learning process. By documenting his observations and ideas, he was able to better understand, analyze, and build upon them. The simple act of putting pen to paper allowed him to uncover new insights.

As we follow our curiosity, we would do well to emulate Da Vinci's approach. By maintaining a curious mind, embracing a multidisciplinary perspective, and nurturing the habit of regular note-taking, we can tap into the same wellspring of discovery that fueled Leonardo.

After all, the true power of curiosity isn’t just about the questions we ask, but in the ways we choose to pursue the answers. And as Da Vinci's legendary notebooks remind us, the simple act of writing and drawing can be transformative.
