2nd • WELCOME THE ELF

Welcome the Elf Day kicks off the holiday season with the arrival of a mischievous elf straight from the North Pole. Inspired by the popular “Elf on the Shelf” tradition, this day invites families to create a special introduction for their elf, complete with fun surprises and imaginative backstories. This is not a promo. Any old elf doll will do.

  1. ELF ARRIVAL PARTY: Decorate the table with snowflake confetti and set out a North Pole breakfast featuring red-and-white treats. The elf arrives with a letter explaining its mission to observe and spread holiday cheer.

  2. ELF-S ADVENTURE MAP: Ahead of the elf’s arrival, create a map showing the elf’s journey from the North Pole. Include stops like “Candy Cane Forest” and “Hot Chocolate River.” Kids can help track the elf’s progress.

  3. PERSONALIZED ELF PASSPORT Design a tiny passport for the elf, complete with stamps for places it might “visit” in your home. Kids can stamp the passport as the elf changes locations.

  4. ELF HOUSE BUILD-OFF: Help kids craft a cozy “home” that keeps the elf from getting homesick for the North Pole. Use a shoebox, cotton balls, and craft supplies.

  5. ELF MYSTERY CLUES: Write playful clues about where the elf is hiding on its first day. Kids can solve the riddle to uncover their new holiday friend. You can repeat this at whatever interval your time and creativity allows.
