EXTRA CREDIT - CANDY STORE
• this extra credit project is worth 50 points •
This is an extra credit project created by the student. In this project you will use the magic of your imagination to create a candy store in your mind. You will think about the many things needed to create this wonderful, magical place.
Where it will be located,
What types of candies you will offer,
What the name will be,
Who your customers will be,
What your customers will like,
How you will collect money,
What your logo will look like,
What your signs will look like,
Who will help you,
And too many more things to even try to list here.
In fact, there are so many things to plan for your candy store that this challenge is worth 50 points! The most we have ever given for an extra credit project. Ever!
But your imagined PLANNING the candy store is the first part. By sending a photograph of you in your candy store in the real world, we will add another 50 points for a total of 100 points. The wizards have an important saying you should remember for the rest of your life.
“Whenever you create something, you always create it twice. First, in your imagination, then, in the world.”
Because we know how hard it is to make a candy store, we are adding someone to The Virtual Owl list for you. If you have problems or questions, you can contact Ambrosius Flume. Mr. Flume and his wife own Honeydukes, the famous candy store in the wizarding village of Hogsmeade.
According to historians at harrypotter.fandom.com’s wiki, Honeydukes “was first established in 1641 and is owned by Ambrosius Flume and his wife, and is filled with ‘shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable’. In addition to the standard wizarding candy that is sold there, the owners also make their own fudge and chocolate. For obvious reasons, the shop is quite a popular destination for Hogwarts students when visiting Hogsmeade on the weekends and during the Christmas season one can barely move due to the crowd of visitors.”
Ask your Muggle Helper if you have questions or need assistance. Best of luck!
