Our Covid-19 Isolation Easter
April 12, 2020
For the first time ever, ever, ever, Keith and I spent Easter alone out of respect for the current pandemic that is ravaging our planet. Despite the stress and sadness of these times, we believe it’s critical to celebrate all the beauty and wonders life holds - no matter what. So today, I dug out my Easter storage container in the basement and fetched a few doodads and paper plates to surprise Keith with a simple take on our traditional holiday.
We donned out bunny ears and hung out in the kitchen where I made Keith ham steaks, au gratin potatoes, buttered peas, hot rolls, pineapple fluff, and lemon cake with whipped cream topping. We enjoyed a delicious meal and giggled to the antics of Russell Brand in the Easter movie “Hop.”
After our Easter lunch, Keith napped while I worked on my little Easter page for my website. I recalled a conversation I had with my sister Samantha. She said during these times everyday feels like Good Friday, but we have to believe there is an Easter Sunday in our future.
I found sweet comfort in going through all the photos of Easters past, trying to post as much as I could before 3:00 when I vowed to myself I would send a link to my family so they can enjoy those memories too.
Loving my husband. Loving my family. Loving my life. We are here and we are happy - and that’s more than enough to make a lovely Easter. All our love to you.
