TIP #4: Choosing the Right Tools
Congratulations on your decision to create your memoir! Let's delve into setting up your Mosaic Memoirs project with practical tips that go beyond the traditional notebook.
Your Mosaic Memoir journey begins with selecting the right tools. When it comes to tools, it's all about finding what works for you. You could get yourself a journal – it could be a simple notebook or a diary. There are so many beautiful ones available, you surely will find one that appeals to you. Something with enough space for your thoughts. Don't worry about it being perfect; just make sure it feels right for you. It's your Mosaic Memoir, so make it yours. While a notebook is a classic choice, before you shop, consider other options too.
Scrapbooks allow for a more visual approach, incorporating doodles, drawings, photos, and even bits of memorabilia. They come in various sizes and are often expandable, allowing for the addition of more pages as needed.
If you prefer a digital route, online word processors offer flexibility. This is always my choice because of the ease of editing and incorporating other elements. A computer word-processing file also allows me to digitally export and post easily. But I also love paper, so often print and bind things like this. It is also better if you want to make multiple copies for gifts or safekeeping.
No matter how you choose to create your memoir, the key is to make it yours, embracing the medium that resonates with you. And depending on what you’ve decided, you may need to grab some pens, pencils, or whatever you like to use for writing - or drawing, if you intend to add some artwork.
