DAY 1
EMBRACE CURIOSITY

Welcome to a week dedicated to the joy of continuous learning! Let's embark on our journey with a meaningful question, an inspiring quote, a daily challenge, an uplifting essay, and a dash of fun.

GRAB YOUR JOURNAL AND ANSWER THIS ONE

What is one subject or skill you've always been curious about, and why?

Dedicate 30 minutes to explore a topic you've been curious about but haven't delved into yet.

THE CURIOUS MIND: UNLOCKING THE DOOR TO CONTINUOUS LEARNING

Remember when you were five years old, asking "why?" about everything? That natural curiosity didn't disappear—it just needs to be rekindled. Take Paw back in high school, who wondered why certain compositions were more visually appealing than others. His simple question led us down a fascinating path of the golden mean and fractals. Before we knew it, he was conducting his own experiments with compositions to build in these secret brain hacks to beauty.

Curiosity is the engine that drives lifelong learning. It's that little voice that asks, "How does this work?" or "What if we tried something different?" Every great innovation, from the Wright brothers' first flight to the development of life-saving vaccines, started with curiosity. When you maintain a curious mindset, every experience becomes an opportunity to learn something new.

The beauty of curiosity is that it's self-perpetuating. One question leads to another, creating a cascade of discovery. Think of it like opening doors in an endless hallway—behind each one lies a new adventure in learning. The key is to embrace your questions rather than dismissing them. Keep a "curiosity journal" where you jot down things that make you wonder. Use these questions as starting points for personal research projects or discussions.

Several decades ago, Paw and I took a self-study course about Leonardo Da Vinci. One of his life principles was Curiosita (Italian for curiosity). We vowed we would never let a question go unanswered. Since then, we research every single one of those little “I wonder what, why, who, where, or how.” A lot of our findings even end up being a “Granny & Paw Learn Stuff” post to you!

Remember, being curious doesn't mean you need to know everything. It means being open to learning anything! Einstein himself said, "I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious." So next time you catch yourself wondering about something, don't brush it aside. Follow that thread of curiosity—you never know where it might lead. We love you. - Granny & Paw

Are you getting the idea I love jars? Create a "Curiosity Jar." Write down questions or topics you're curious about and pick one to explore each week.

“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.”
