May Day | Making May Baskets
MAY DAY BREAKFAST
May 1, 2018
When schedules allow, we try to have a little May Day breakfast with the youngest grandchildren before school. This year, there will be a surprise for them: since they did such a great job making May Day Baskets for each other last year, Granny decided she would have them assemble the May Baskets for the family this year. To thank them for their hard work, she has a super special May Basket for them.
Here is the table ready and waiting for our May Day guests to arrive. The girls are excited for the fun ahead and in a great mood. There is lots of singing. I think it is the joy overflowing.
ASSEMBLING MAY BASKETS
After the candy and flowers are loaded into this year’s May Baskets, and the name tags are decorated, it’s time for a photo of the finished handiwork.
MR. MAY’S SURPRISE
Presley and Lilly had one more task to complete before their May Day work was done. They took the May Basket for Paw, sneaked out the back door, ran around to the front of the house, hung the basket by the door, rang the bell, and ran away. He was so surprised to find a May Basket there! The girls were coveting his Dove dark chocolates so he shared.
SURPRISES FOR GRANNY’S HELPERS
Just when the girls thought the day couldn’t be any more fun, Paw sneaked away and got the big May Day tubs she had made for them and Roland. They were the biggest May Baskets that Granny had ever made!
It was a very happy ending to a wonderful May Day Breakfast.
